Seth resides with his parents at T6S R4W, Perry County, Illinois on the 1860 and 1870 US census. he married Susan Henrietta Willis on March 23, 1876. Their first son, Lewis W, was born March 1878.
Sometime between the birth of Lewis in 1878 and the summer of 1880, Seth moved his family to Kansis. For the 1880 census they are living at Pleasant View Township, Cherokee County, Kansas in the household of Peter Elford, a divorced farmer from England with two older children.
Three children were born in Kansas: Rosa in November 1880, Lee in December 1882, and Lara in March 1883.
The family moved again because the next child, Pear, is born in Colorado in June 1889. Setha Dale was born in La Junta, Otaro County, Colorado, but only lived six days from April 8 to April 14, 1893. Edna was born a year later in April 1894.
Within the next two years the family returned to Kansas, and Loyd is born there in January 1900. On 1900 US Census, Seth T, age 45, is renting a home at 409 Swen, in Coffeyville, Montgomery County, Kansas with Henrietta and their eight living children. His occupation is listed as farmer although they are not living on a farm. The two oldest boys, Lewis (age 22) and Lee (age 17) are broom makers, and Rosa (age 19) is a nurse.
Seth and Henrietta had five other children who died as babies or children and whose names I have not found.
After 1900, the family almost disappears in the records. I believe that son Lee is the Lee F Throop on the 1920 census as a 37-year-old railroad switchman living at 1125 Avenue C East in Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas.
